The Illumina Agricultural Greater Good Initiative grants, launched in 2011, are awarded annually. This program spurs critically needed research that will increase the sustainability, productivity, and nutritional density of agriculturally important crop and livestock species. Grant recipients receive donations of Illumina products to support their projects.
Illumina is a leading developer, manufacturer, and marketer of life science tools and integrated systems for large-scale analysis of genetic variation and function. These systems are enabling studies that were not even imaginable just a few years ago, and moving us closer to the realization of personalized medicine.

The Grand Prize winner will receive 20 terabases of Illumina NovaSeq sequencing data on samples of your choice (check Terms and Conditions). The winner will be announced during the Illumina Workshop at PAG XXIX.
The grant program is open to basic researchers in agrigenomics at academic or nonprofit institutions. Priority will be given to research that increases sustainability, productivity, and nutritional density of the world’s food supply.
