The Aker Scholarship provides funding that complements other sources of financial support. You will normally not incur any additional student loans during the course of your degree. The scholarship comes with no strings attached.
1. To be eligible you must be Norwegian or have a strong link to Norway:
2. You must be academically strong and have a desire to contribute to society:
The best applicants will be invited for an interview and we will reach out to your references.
The most promising candidates will receive a conditional offer of a scholarship, pending admission to the university to which they applied. Our financial support is guaranteed if you are admitted.
In the period up to the application deadline at your chosen university, you will work on your application, undertake mandatory tests etc. We will assist you in this process.
If you are admitted to the university you applied to and accept the offer, we will confirm your scholarship. It is at this stage of the process that the award will be “official”.
The application for Aker Scholarship is completed online. You must include a CV, grades, recommendation letters, references and other relevant documents.
You must submit an application letter approximately 1,5 - 2 pages long describing yourself, what you want to study and why.
If you want support for a PhD, you must also attach a project description, typically 4-10 pages long. We primarily want a professionally oriented description of what you want to immerse yourself in through the doctoral degree. We understand that such a PhD project description can and will change in dialogue with the academic community at the universities once you embark on your degree.
