The West African Institute of Public Health (WAIPH) is a non-state and not for profit regional health development organisation (RHDO) strengthening public health systems, enhancing the enabling environment and developing the requisite professional capacity to ensure the performance of public health functions in the West Africa region.
To achieve its mission, the Institute is innovation-driven as it works to support governments and partners to create dynamic, resilient, equitable, integrated, decentralized and participatory health systems within a just and empowered society in the spirit of universal access to health with primary health care as the cornerstone.
The key pillars of the Institute’s interventions are advocacy, policy, research, education/training, standards, competency, certifications and public health programme implementation.
