iMEdD’s bold, non-profit newsroom – is searching for the next generation of reporters who will shape the future of independent journalism. iMEdD is offering one- or two-year paid placement opportunity to recent graduates from all over the world, at our cutting-edge newsroom in Athens, Greece, where you’ll create impactful, transparent, and innovative journalism.?
Program Details
- Field reporting & global assignments: You’ll cover unfolding events on the ground in Greece and abroad, with real-time reporting opportunities and learn from top industry professionals and mentors. ?
- Impactful journalism: Produce stories that matter—whether political, investigative, enterprise, international, or conflict reporting.?
- Video-First News: Create engaging news content designed for digital platforms, reaching audiences where they consume information.?
- Immersive Experiences: Experiment with AR, VR, and XR to develop news-oriented immersive storytelling.?
- Data Journalism & Tools: Leverage data journalism to uncover insights and develop products and tools designed by journalists for journalists.?
- You’ll front your stories: YOJO reporters don’t stay behind the scenes—you’ll be on camera, reporting and presenting your own work.?
- Global Network & Community: Network with professionals from across the globe and join a community of young journalists who will shape the industry in the coming years.?
- Make a difference: This newsroom will amplify the voices of young journalists, giving them the freedom to experiment, innovate, and shape the future of journalism.?
- Media Technology Skills: Learn to operate cutting-edge broadcast technology and leverage AI tools to enhance news production and storytelling.?
- Build your portfolio: Walk away after one or two years with a strong personal body of published journalistic work, distributed across platforms.?

Requirements for iMEdD Young Journalists (YOJO) Program Qualification
- Recent graduate of undergraduate or postgraduate studies (within the last 18 months, since October 2023) OR final-year student (all countries welcome)?
- Fluent in English (Greek is a plus but not required)?
- No newsroom experience required—just a strong sense of curiosity and commitment to ethical, impactful journalism?
- Willingness to relocate to Athens and thrive in a dynamic newsroom environment?
