Improve the Australian health system with impactful PhD research co-funded by Flinders and the South Australian Commission for Excellence and Innovation in Health. The Commission is the government agency responsible for innovation in healthcare in South Australia. This means the candidate will gain academic and health service experience, whilst undertaking research with direct relevance to the real-world delivery of health care.
Flinders University and the Commission for Excellence and Innovation in Health in South Australia are offering a PhD Enterprise Scholarship to undertake research on economic frameworks to promote innovation in local health service settings. Local health services are often too busy surviving to thrive and insufficient capacity is available to develop and implement processes to promote innovation. The research will investigate incentives and supports relating to the prioritisation, development, assessment and implementation of health service innovations in local health service settings, engaging with clinicians, consumers and health service managers.
Flinders University is a public university in Adelaide, South Australia. Founded in 1966, it was named in honour of navigator Matthew Flinders, who explored and surveyed the South Australian coastline in the early 19th century.
