One three-year DAAD doctoral scholarship is available for international candidates wishing to participate in the doctoral program of the Berlin School of Mind and Brain.
DAAD scholarship in Germany is a private, federally funded and state-funded, self governing national agency of the institutions of higher education in Germany, representing 365 German higher education institutions (100 universities and technical universities, 162 general universities of applied sciences, and 52 colleges of music and art) [2003]. Because we are advertising only one doctoral scholarship, the competetion will be strong. From our experience, applicants with more unusual academic backgrounds for the scientific study of the mind and the brain will be unlikely to succeed. Therefore, should you not have the academic background recommended for our graduate school – i.e., philosophy, psychology, neuroscience, cognitive science, psycholinguistics -, you should perhaps reconsider applying for this scholarship.
