The Paediatric Anaesthesia Training in Africa (PATA) Fellowship, Abuja, Nigeria is offering two 12-month paediatric anaesthesia fellowship positions starting September 2024.
Fellows will work at the Department of Anaesthesia at National Hospital Abuja. Teaching will be provided by local faculty and visiting specialists.
PATA is locally led and supported by the WFSA, the Nigerian Society of Anaesthetists and experienced partners from the global surgery and anaesthesia space including Smile Train and the Vanderbilt University Medical Centre.
Preference will be given to young and upcoming anaesthesiologists.
After the end of the Second World War anaesthetists found that international travel became more widely available. This coupled with a desire to learn from others and exchange experiences led, through a series of other meetings, to the establishment of an Interim Committee which met in 1953 and 1954. Applications are invited for this funded scholarship. The successful applicants will receive funding to cover tuition, accommodation and subsistence living expenses.
Eligible candidates will be interviewed for the position.
Successful applicants will be informed by 1 June 2024 via email.
Successful applicants must confirm their intention to take up the scholarship within 3 days of notification. Failure to do so will result in the scholarship being offered to the next applicant.
