Victoria University of Wellington Law School Leaver Scholarships are open to students intending to enrol in a Bachelor of Law at the Law School. The scholarship is a contribution to accommodation costs at a Victoria University of Wellington Hall of Residence or paid as a stipend in two instalments. Preference will be given to applicants demonstrating financial hardship.
Victoria University of Wellington Law School Leaver Scholarships provide financial support to New Zealand's brightest young students who would not otherwise have the opportunity to attend university. This scholarship programme has been established to ensure the University's Faculty of Law continues to attract the very best students who represent the diversity of New Zealand society.

The scholarship value is $5,000 paid over two years ($2,500 per annum). This will be paid directly towards accommodation costs at a Victoria University of Wellington Hall of Residence or as a stipend paid in two instalments. The second $2,500 is awarded upon acceptance and enrolment in second year Law (a minimum enrolment of 2 x 200 level LAW courses).
These scholarships are open to students intending to enrol in a Bachelor of Law at the Law School. Applicants are expected to have their NCEA Level 2 Certificate endorsed with Merit (or equivalent in another qualification). Preference will be given to applicants demonstrating financial hardship. Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.
Selection will be made by a panel of appropriate Victoria University of Wellington Faculty of Law staff.
A completed online application must be submitted by 4:30pm on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Any required supporting documentation (including references) must also be received by 4:30pm on the closing date in order for the application to be considered.
