University of Southampton Sanctuary Scholarships
Aim and Benefits of University of Southampton Sanctuary Scholarships
The University of Southampton will:?
- Cover 100% of tuition fee costs for each year of study (3 years for UG and 1 year for PGT)
- Provide a bursary for each year of study to help with additional study costs?(this is flexible given individual circumstances)
- Provide a welcome pack
- Support with university accommodation (if you have specific requirements, please contact the Sanctuary Coordinator
Requirements for University of Southampton Sanctuary Scholarships Qualification
Applicants for the Sanctuary Scholarship will need to:
- hold an offer from the University of Southampton to study on either an Undergraduate or Postgraduate Taught course.
They will also need:
Interview date, Process and Venue for University of Southampton Sanctuary Scholarships
- Stage 1- Submit scholarship application along with required evidence such as programme offer letter (outlined in the application form).
- Stage 2- The Sanctuary Coordinator will process the forms and may contact applicants should further information be required.
- Stage 3- The application closes 7 June 2024.
- Stage 4- The panel meet to go through completed applications*.
- Stage 5- The panel select the applicants they wish to offer the scholarship to.
- Stage 6- The Sanctuary Coordinator contacts the successful applicants to offer them a conditional scholarship offer. This condition is based on being able to successfully enrol onto one of our university programmes (this is typically confirmed after August results day, depending on entry requirements/course)
- Stage 7- Applicants accept or decline the scholarship offer. If declined, the panel go back to the unsuccessful applicants to enquire if they are still interested and hold and offer.
- Stage 8- If they accept then the applicant lets the Sanctuary Coordinator know if they have accommodation requirements.
- Stage 9- In August students must confirm they have/have not met the requirements of their programme following results day.
- Stage 10- The coordinator communicates with the successful scholars to ensure they are supported through enrolment, moving, or any other university process.
*Preference will be given to students who meet the following (we will still consider application forms from students who do not meet the?criteria.)
- Live a commutable distance to the University of Southampton campus (ideally the one that hosts the offered programme of study for most of the time)
- Studying their first Undergraduate degree or first Masters degree
- Unable to access UK Government Student Finance (this is the main one)
