University of Oulu 2023 CWC grants an Encouragement Scholarship (Finland)

The Centre for Wireless Communications (CWC) at the University of Oulu offers a world-class education in wireless communications engineering (WCE). For a limited number of the most talented students applying to the WCE master’s programme in 2023, CWC grants an Encouragement Scholarship of 6,000€.

The WCE programme provides students with the skills and knowledge needed to become leaders in the field. It covers a wide range of topics, from basic radio engineering theory to advanced signal processing and wireless networking. Students will also get the opportunity to work on real-world projects using state-of-the-art equipment of 6G Flagship. With a Masters in WCE, you will be equipped for either an academic or industrial career in tomorrow’s wireless world. Also, we are always searching for new doctoral students to join the 6G Flagship programme.

Aim and Benefits of University of Oulu CWC grants an Encouragement Scholarship

At the University of Oulu the scholarship covers a first-year tuition fee and a relocation grant of 6000€ which is paid once the student has arrived in Oulu. The scholarships are aimed at gifted non-EU/EEA students who are liable to tuition fees and apply for international master’s programmes at the university of Oulu.

Documents Required for Application

The online application at Studyinfo.fi instructs if you have to upload attachments to support your application.

Applicants applying with diploma completed outside Finland:

• a proof of your English language skills. Applications without the proof of language skills will not proceed in student selection
• the final diploma and academic transcript in original language and official English translation of them
• Motivation Letter: 500-1000 words. Please see instructions on the Student Selection Process section.
• CV
• Research Interest document: A free-form document describing applicant's research interests. Please see instructions on the Student Selection Process section. Please note that like the other required documents, the research interest document is a mandatory attachment to the application.

Applicants applying with diploma completed in Finland:

• most of the Finnish diplomas are available for universities through national database. Studyinfo database requests the attachments that are not available electronically in the database

you can apply for the scholarship with the same online application when you apply to the university in January 2023. The online application will be available during the application period. It is possible to apply for and to be awarded both Finland Scholarship and the programme-specific scholarship.

Note that this scholarship is only available for applicants applying in the 2023 application round!
