University of Manchester 2023 Global Development Institute Master’s Bursary

The Global Development Institute Merit Awards provide three full scholarships for academically excellent resident citizens of Ghana, Kenya, Ethiopia or Uganda who have not previously studied outside Africa and are studying a GDI campus-based master’s course commencing in September 2023. The scholarship covers tuition fees, living expenses, flights to the UK, and visa costs.

About University of Manchester

The University of Manchester, in its present form, was created in 2004 by the amalgamation of the Victoria University of Manchester and the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST). Aim and Benefits of Global Development Institute Master’s Bursary

The scholarship provides £10,000 reduction in tuition fees. 

Requirements for Global Development Institute Master’s Bursary Qualification

• Applicants must meet the entry requirements for the MSc in Management and Information Systems (Distance Learning)including a first degree of 2.1 standard or above and English language qualification. 
• Applicants must hold an offer for the MSc in Management and Information Systems (Distance Learning) programme. 
• Applicants must also meet the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) entry requirements that they are a citizen of developing Commonwealth country (see list below), refugee, or British protected person; and a permanent resident in a developing Commonwealth country for the duration of the MSc programme.
