This ambition is the reason behind the Fairer Future Global Scholarships for international students embarking on an undergraduate programme starting in September 2023.
We are committed to supporting these change makers who will be contributing to shaping this future for us all. These scholarships are here to support international students who are committed to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals as part of our academic community at the University of Hull.

The University of Hull was founded in 1927 – originally as University College Hull. The foundation stone was laid the following year by the Duke of York (later King George VI, of The King's Speech fame) and we opened for business with 39 students and 14 ‘one-man’ departments. Only applications meeting the criteria stated above will be sent to the scholarship board for final assessment. The scholarship board will assess successful applications based on the answers provided to the questions in the Fairer Future Global Scholarship application form. The scholarship board will be looking for applicants who have given full and relevant answers to the questions asked, as well as supportive references from a relevant teacher or tutor. Applications should reflect the applicants’ abilities and motivations as well as how they intend to use their experience and knowledge from studying their course. They will also look at applicants’ previous experience and career aspirations and how committed applicants are to contributing to society, their country and the University of Hull after their course.
