Aim and Benefits of Excellence Master Fellowships

Each Excellence Master Fellowship provides:

  • A grant of CHF 10,000 to CHF 15,000 per year.
  • Funding for one year, with renewal for the regular duration of the Master’s program (three to four semesters) based on academic performance.
  • No teaching duties, allowing full focus on studies.

Requirements for Excellence Master Fellowships Qualification

Applicants must:

  • Be among the top students of their undergraduate program.
  • Have completed or be completing a brilliant bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Meet the admission requirements for their chosen Master of Science program at the University of Geneva.
  • Submit a complete application file, including all required documents.

Note: Students already enrolled in a Master’s program at the Faculty of Science cannot apply.

How to Apply

  1. Apply for a Master’s program at the Faculty of Science through the Admissions Office.
  2. Gather and prepare the required documents in a single PDF file:
    • copy of your passport or national identity card.
    • Curriculum Vitae (max 2 pages).
    • transcript of records from your Bachelor’s studies.
    • motivation letter explaining your scientific interests and reasons for pursuing the Master’s program.
    • Two letters of recommendation from professors (preferably sent directly to [email protected]).
    • Any additional relevant documents (e.g., GRE scores, TOEFL, or other language test results).
  3. Submit your application online after registering for a Master’s program.
  4. Ensure you receive a confirmation email (“UNIGE-Application: Submission of your application”) as proof of enrollment.
