The Fundación para el Futuro de Colombia (COLFUTURO) is a financial support initiative for Colombian professionals that have demonstrated academic excellence, who wish to broaden their career development by pursuing Master by coursework and research or Doctoral research higher degree studies at the top global 100 universities to build on human capital for the future of Colombia.
The Scholarship Loan Program has been developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation and with the support from private industry and NGOs that wish to promote and encourage study abroad opportunities for professionals to gain the skills necessary to return to Colombia and contribute to the academic and public sector priority areas.

The financial support model COLFUTURO offers is a Scholarship-Loan. COLFUTURO offers each postgraduate coursework candidate up to US$50,000, and each HDR candidate up to US$50,000 (depending on the research area and the chosen university's research ranking), which may be requested in full, even if the program is one year. Candidates may be awarded scholarships for 80% of the loaned amount, provided they be awarded their postgraduate degree, return to Colombia, and remain in the country for up to five years.
COLFUTURO’s awardees have up to 2 years after completing studies to remain abroad for the purpose of work experience
COLFUTURO's selection process for the Loan-Scholarship Program is done yearly. You can find more information on how to apply on COLFUTURO's website .
Successful awardees will be required to follow the process via the online COLFUTURO platform to manage their scholarship loan during their studies abroad.
As part of the COLFUTURO application, you need to identify which degrees you are interested in studying. You will then need to submit an application for your preferred degree directly to the University of Adelaide.
