Aim and Benefits of UNICEF USA Youth Advocacy Training

The Youth Advocacy Training supports US-based young people, ages 14-24, to build core advocacy skills for youth-led civic engagement. Using UNICEF’s Youth Advocacy Guide and workplan the training will teach you the process of advocacy, combining clear ‘how to’ steps with inspirational stories from other youth advocates who are striving to bring about change. Through four days of participatory, virtual workshops, you'll learn to develop personal goals for your advocacy issue; tell your story; develop networking strategies; leverage the people and resources around you; and learn how to effectively communicate as an advocate. Throughout the training you will develop your very own advocacy action plan to guide your advocacy journey. You will also engage in mini-workshops on event planning, working with social media, peer coaching, and issue-based networking.

Those selected to participate in the Youth Advocacy Training will receive a stipend of $125 at the end of the training.
