The LeVeen-Roach Scholarship Fund of Secession Golf Club for the 2025-2026 academic year are now open!!!
The LeVeen-Roach Scholarship Fund was founded in memory of two members, Jeffrey Earle LeVeen and Stephen Louis Roach of Secession Golf Club, who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. In the belief that this horrific event should not define these wonderful men, this scholarship was born. Their love of golf, devotion to Secession and appreciation of our Lowcountry community will forever live in the LeVeen-Roach Scholarship Fund.
The LeVeen-Roach Scholarship Fund was founded in memory of two members, Jeffrey Earle LeVeen and Stephen Louis Roach of Secession Golf Club, who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Jeff and Steve, who worked for Cantor Fitzgerald in One World Trade Center, were in their offices that morning when the hijacked airliner slammed into the building several floors below them. The LeVeen-Roach Scholarship Fund supports the higher education ambitions of Beaufort-area students who need only demonstrate academic potential, interest and commitment to growth and the community, with awards amount reflecting financial need.
Scholarship grants are contingent upon the recipient’s graduation from high school and/or successful completion of the current year in college AND enrollment in an accredited college, university or professional program. Awards will be granted to qualified applicants who demonstrate financial need. In addition, please include the following:
Please briefly tell us a bit more about yourself with a focus on your participation and/or connection to golf, your commitment to community service by you and/or immediate family members and any information about you and your immediate family’s service in the military, as EMS, as a first responder or related services (i.e. in healthcare, in public safety or as educators).
An updated transcript of your grades.
Completed FAFSA and SAR forms.
A recent photograph, suitable for posting on this website.
Two letters of recommendation (NEW APPLICANTS ONLY).
A current list of honors, achievements, and special activities.
Awards will be granted to qualified applicants who demonstrate financial need.
