Victoria University of Wellington 2024 Infratec scholarship is for Maori, Pasifika or women students majoring in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in the Bachelor of Engineering with Honours programme with an intention to choose a specialisation in Renewable Energy Systems Engineering in their third year.
This scholarship is co-funded by Victoria University of Wellington and Infratec, a leading renewable energy company delivering innovative renewable energy solutions to create positive impacts for communities, businesses and the planet.

This scholarship was established to support Maori, Pasifika and women students to choose a career in the renewable energy sector. It does this by providing financial support to Maori, Pasifika or women school leavers majoring in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in the Bachelor of Engineering with Honours programme with an intention to choose a specialisation in Renewable Energy Systems Engineering in their third year.

The awardee will receive a stipend of $6,000 per year for the first three years of study, conditional on choosing the Renewable Energy Systems Engineering specialisation in their third year.
The awardee shall also receive a paid summer placement with Infratec at the end of their second year of study to be arranged directly by Infratec.
Applicants will be selected on the basis of academic merit, motivation, future potential, and commitment to studying renewable energy and working in the field of renewable energy engineering.
The successful recipient will be shortlisted by the Sustainable Energy Systems Group from the School of Engineering and Computer Science. The shortlist will then be sent to the donor for their recommendations with final selection to be determined by the Sustainable Energy Systems Group.
A completed online application must be submitted by 4.30 pm on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Any required supporting documentation (including references) must also be received by 4.30 pm on the closing date in order for the application to be considered.
