Queen Mary University of London works in partnership with the Unite Foundation to offer accommodation scholarships to young people who are care experienced or who are estranged from their families. The scholarship provides up to three years of free, year-round accommodation at Rahere Court.

About Queen Mary University of London

Queen Mary College was founded in the nineteenth century to provide education to working class people living in London�s East End. It originated from the People�s Palace Technical Colleges, which opened in 1887 and were funded by the Draper�s Company. Opened by Queen Victoria, the People�s Palace provided evening classes, a library, reading rooms and social activities. Its purpose resonates with Queen Mary today. The scholarship provides up to three years of free, year-round accommodation at Rahere Court.

Requirements for Unite Foundation Scholarship Qualification

To be eligible to apply you need to be:

• Aged 25 or under on 1 September 2025
• UK home fee status student i.e. not an international student
• Studying at or holding a firm choice offer from Queen Mary University of London
• Undertaking your first and only course of undergraduate study
• Not undertaking Foundation or Masters level study 
• In receipt of or applying for student finance
• A statutory care leaver or estranged from your parent(s)
