OpenIDEO 2020 COVID-19 Global South Health and Livelihood Challenge

OpenIDEO has launched a call for innovative ideas to support low and middle income families across the world during the pandemic. The top ten ideas will receive prizes as well as additional investment potential.

• How could we help low and middle income families in the South to stay healthy while maintaining sustainable livelihoods during the COVID-19 pandemic?

OpenIDEO is an open innovation platform where people from all corners of the world collaboratively tackle some of the toughest global issues through launching Challenges, programs, and other tailored experiences.

A Challenge is a three-to-five month collaborative process that focuses attention on the topic and creates a space for community members to contribute and build off each other. This approach is modeled on IDEO's design thinking methodology.

Aim and Benefits of COVID-19 Global South Health and Livelihood Challenge

1. Funding and award support will be available for up to 10 best ideas. In addition, Top Ideas will be invited to present their concepts to the leaders of Intercorp to be considered for further investment and implementation.
2. Some ideas may also have the opportunity to be mentored by La Victoria Lab, Intercorp's innovation lab, to explore avenues for implementation.

Requirements for COVID-19 Global South Health and Livelihood Challenge Qualification

OpenIDEO seeks innovative ideas that demonstrate a deep understanding of low- and middle-income families in urban areas of the South and of those most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. We accept all stages of innovations, from initial design to large-scale deployment. Anyone can take the challenge, whether you are an individual, a team or a registered organization.
