MTN 2020 ICT & Business Skills Training for Nigerian Youth

The MTN ICT and Business Skills Training is an initiative under the MTN Foundation Youth Empowerment Cause, aimed at building the capacity of young people between the ages of 18 to 35 in the area of ICT and Entrepreneurship Skills, such that their employability and entrepreneurial abilities are enhanced.

The MTNF has implemented three phases of this initiative since its inception in 2018 and has successfully trained 1,933 youth across five (5) states (Oyo, Kano, Imo, Nasarawa and Rivers). This was achieved in partnership with some of its ecosystem partners – Google, Oracle, KPMG, IBM and Digital Bridge Institute.

The fourth phase is scheduled for youth who reside and operate their businesses in the underlisted states below. This phase will be implemented in partnership with Google, Oracle, and Cisco.

About MTN Foundation

The MTN Foundation scholarship scheme seeks to attract high performing full time students studying in public tertiary institutions (universities, polytechnics and colleges of education) in Nigeria. The scholarship provides financial assistance to students who might otherwise be unable to pay for their tertiary education and aims to recognize and reward academic excellence.

Aim and Benefits of MTN ICT & Business Skills Training

1. The MTN ICT and Business Skills initiative aimed at building the capacity of young people in the area of ICT while contributing to their employability and entrepreneurial ability
2. The training will involve ICT/Employability and basic business skills, and would be facilitated by MTNN Ecosystem partners (IBM, KPMG, Google, Digital Bridge Institute and Oracle).

Requirements for MTN ICT & Business Skills Training Qualification

The training programme is free and open to youths between the ages of 18 – 35 years old who are interested in leveraging on ICT.
