The Higher Education Authority (HEA) is pleased to issue the 2023 Call under the Government of Ireland International Education Scholarships Programme. Under the initiative 60 scholarships will be provided for one year study at Masters or PhD levels to successful candidates who have an offer of a place at an eligible Irish higher education institution.
The offer is open to students from non-EU/EEA countries and is applicable to all fields of study.
The HEA leads the strategic development of the Irish higher education and research system with the objective of creating a coherent system of diverse institutions with distinct missions, which is responsive to the social, cultural and economic development of Ireland and its people and supports the achievement of national objectives. Students who are successful will receive:
To be eligible to apply for GOI-IES you must:
1) Have a domiciliary of origin outside of the EU/EEA/Switzerland or United Kingdom
2) Have received an offer of a place in a full-time course at an eligible Irish higher education institution for either:
a. One year of a taught masters degree program
b. One year of a research programme (i.e. one year of a 2-year research masters or a 3- 4-year PhD programme).

The 2023 GOI-IES round will close at 5pm Irish Time, 24 March 2023.
The HEA expects to release the results by 1 June 2023 at the earliest.
