The Clark-Alonso Africa Scholarship is designed to encourage research on sub-Saharan Africa in the Department of Politics and International Relations at FIU.

The scholarship fund awards $1,000 each year to the graduate student in the Department who produces the best published paper (or conference paper) on the politics or international relations of sub-Saharan Africa.
Selection
A three-person faculty panel will review applications and determine the scholarship winner. In exceptional cases, the panel may announce joint winners (in which case the scholarship will be divided between the two).
Award Announcement
Award will be presented at the Department’s annual Welcome Back Grads event (early in the Fall semester).
