The Rural Scholarship was established to support continuing students from regional South Australia to access higher education at an Adelaide-based campus. The funding is to support the study and additional living costs associated with living away from their regional home.
This scholarship has been made possible by donations from the community members who want to remove barriers to education for students from regional South Australia.
Flinders University is a public university in Adelaide, South Australia. Founded in 1966, it was named in honour of navigator Matthew Flinders, who explored and surveyed the South Australian coastline in the early 19th century. One scholarship valued at $2,000 will be awarded annually, depending on funds available. The scholarship will be paid soon after the semester census date.
To be considered, applicants must:
*Applications will be accepted from part-time students who have extenuating circumstances that prevent them from studying full-time (e.g. disabilities, carer responsibilities).
Selection Criteria
The scholarship will be awarded based on academic merit and ASGC remoteness classification. Selection will be made in accordance with procedures approved by the Director, Student Administration Services.
Applications should be submitted online through the Student System by the specified closing date.
