Flinders University has established this scholarship to support regional and rural SA and NT students studying undergraduate courses in STEM focussing on the defence industry.
Flinders University is a public university in Adelaide, South Australia. Founded in 1966, it was named in honour of navigator Matthew Flinders, who explored and surveyed the South Australian coastline in the early 19th century. The scholarship is valued at $7,500 per annum for up to four years. The scholarship will be paid in instalments of $3,750 each semester subject to the recipient maintaining eligibility.

Selection Criteria
Selection will be awarded based on academic merit, using the applicant’s university entrance score. Selection of the candidate(s) will be made at the same time as the main round of University admission offers in accordance with procedures approved by the Director, Student Administration based on SATAC application data If the scholarship quota is not filled in the main round of offers, the University may decide to offer scholarships to students in subsequent rounds.(Note, the main round is usually held in the January of the admission year).
An application for an eligible course will constitute an application for the scholarship. You have until 3 January 2024 to apply for a degree at Flinders University by preferencing Flinders first. To update or change your current SATAC preferences check out our ‘how to’ video.
