Professor Michael Kidd AM, Honorary Professor of Global Primary Care with the Southgate Institute for Health, Society and Equity and former Executive Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Flinders University, has a special interest in furthering the education and training of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as health professionals.
The Professor Michael Kidd AM Scholarship has been established in perpetuity to support the retention and successful graduation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students as health professionals.
The scholarship is funded through Professor Michael Kidd’s contribution to the Karmel Endowment Fund.

Selection Criteria
The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and financial need. The academic merit of applicants will be assessed by way of the Selection Score used to gain entry to their course of study e.g. ATAR, STAT score in the case of commencing students, and the Grade Point Average (GPA) in their course of study in the case of continuing students.
Selection of the candidate(s) will be made in accordance with procedures approved by the Director, Academic and Student Services.
