The Playford Trust, in partnership with WSP, offers a $10,000 scholarship for a student in Honours or fourth year studying civil, structural, mechanical, electrical engineering or environmental studies.

The successful applicant will have a scholarship valued at $10,000.00 and the opportunity to develop their engineering skills and enhance their industry participation through a work placement with WSP. The work placement will provide invaluable project specific experience within one of our market led business groups (Transport, Property, Energy and Resources, Earth and Environment or Water). The services that WSP provides in each of these sectors comprises of a wide variety of specialisations including the mechanical, electrical, civil, structural engineering disciplines in addition to project management, sustainability, earth sciences. The work experience will be for up to a six-week flexible period and offers the opportunity for a potential ongoing paid internship and future employment.

Preference will also be given to students who have a keen focus on developing skills in technical engineering and consulting, and have confidence and experience with human interaction and digital communication.
It is essential that the applicant’s supervisor or an academic referee (e.g. dean of school/faculty, or lecturer) provides a supporting comment about the student’s achievements, character and leadership potential.
Selection Criteria
The Playford Trust will consider nominations from students studying at one of the three South Australian public universities and reserves the right to accept or reject any or all of the nominations.
WSP and the Playford Trust will jointly make the final selection, with an interview process for the final shortlisted applicants.
