The scholarship was established to honour the late Honourable Bob Such MP, who represented the local seat of Fisher in the House of Assembly for 25 years until his passing in October 2014. The scholarship will provide financial assistance to students from the southern suburbs of Adelaide undertaking an undergraduate degree at Flinders University.
The scholarship was initially established by a grant provided by the State Government. From 2023, the scholarship is being funded by Charles Such, brother of the late Bob Such.
Flinders University is a public university in Adelaide, South Australia. Founded in 1966, it was named in honour of navigator Matthew Flinders, who explored and surveyed the South Australian coastline in the early 19th century. Each Scholarship will be valued at $2,500. The Scholarship will be paid in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester.
The number of scholarships will be dependent on available funds.

The Scholarship selection will be made based on financial need and academic merit.
