The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to outstanding women who are commencing the first year of one of the Bachelor of Science courses and enrolling in PHYS1101 and PHYS1102 at Flinders University.
The scholarship has been established as a result of a generous donation from Associate Professor Maria Parappilly.
Flinders University is a public university in Adelaide, South Australia. Founded in 1966, it was named in honour of navigator Matthew Flinders, who explored and surveyed the South Australian coastline in the early 19th century. There will be one scholarship of $1,000 awarded each year whilst funding is available.
Payment will be made in two instalments after the census date of each semester.

Scholarships are available to part-time students in exceptional circumstances, which includes (but is not limited to) disability, illness or carer responsibilities. Part-time scholarship recipients will receive the same annual value as full-time scholarship recipients.
The scholarship will be awarded on academic merit (ATAR). If there is more than one student sharing the highest ATAR, results in specific school subjects will be taken into consideration.
Scholarship selection will be made in accordance with approved procedures.
