The Stella and Peter Braund Undergraduate Scholarship has been established to support continuing undergraduate students enrolled at Flinders University who are in financial hardship.
The scholarship has been established as a result of a significant and generous donation from Stella and Peter Braund. The scholarship will be supported by an endowed fund that was made possible as a result of this donation.
Flinders University is a public university in Adelaide, South Australia. Founded in 1966, it was named in honour of navigator Matthew Flinders, who explored and surveyed the South Australian coastline in the early 19th century. Flinders is a verdant university[citation needed] and a member of the Innovative Research Universities (IRU) Group and ranks in the 10-16 bracket in Australia and 36th in the world of those established less than 50 years. The Scholarship will have a value of $5,000 per annum (subject to available funds) paid in instalments of $2,500 after the census date of each semester. The Scholarship will be prorated for part-time students

The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of financial need and academic merit. All students meeting the above eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply, however applications may be preferenced as follows:
1. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Students
2. Female students studying STEM courses
3. All other eligible applicants.
Selection of the candidate(s) will be made in accordance in accordance with approved University procedures with procedures.
