The Catherine Helen Spence Scholarship is offered every four years and provides financial support for a woman to investigate social problems or study in the field of social science in Australia and overseas. The value of the scholarship in 2022 is $25,000.
Flinders University is a public university in Adelaide, South Australia. Founded in 1966, it was named in honour of navigator Matthew Flinders, who explored and surveyed the South Australian coastline in the early 19th century. Applicants do not need to be currently employed, studying, or attached to an organisation or institution to apply for the scholarship.
The scholarship may be combined with a PhDOpen in slide out, Masters, Honors, or another degree study.
Conference attendance may be combined with an investigation or study undertaken as part of a research project. Under the terms of the scholarship, funding cannot, however, be provided solely for conference attendance.
