Numerix remains committed to supporting talented women in the capital markets through our annual Women in Finance Scholarship opportunity.
The Women in Finance Scholarship is aimed at encouraging and supporting talented women in the field of finance, particularly those pursuing careers in financial asset management, market risk management, fixed-income, and derivatives finance within the capital markets.
The scholarship was launched in 2014 as the FINCAD Women in Finance Scholarship, and has been continued following the 2023 acquisition of FINCAD by Numerix.
Back in 1990, FINCAD was just two men working 16-hour days with a vision of making transparency the modus operandi of the derivatives trading space. What has changed since then? For one thing, transparency is no longer the focus of two outliers – it has become one of the fundamental pillars of the financial analytics world. Once a year, an award of US$20,000 is given to one eligible woman to help support graduate-level studies in Finance, with 50% of the award being paid directly to the winner and the remaining 50% being paid to the educational institution to directly assist with tuition.
