Incoming international doctoral students are awarded the Concordia International Tuition Award of Excellence upon admission to the program. The award reduces the tuition fees of international students to the Quebec rate. Any student already benefitting from an award that reduces tuition to the Quebec rate is not eligible.
Incoming research-based students born outside of Quebec are considered for the Out of Province Award upon admission. The award reduces the tuition fees of out-of-province students to the Quebec rate.
Valued at $14,000 per year for four years, admitted doctoral students are considered for the Concordia University Doctoral Graduate Fellowship upon admission.
Valued at $10,000, admitted master’s research-based students are considered for the Concordia Merit Scholarship upon admission.
Concordia offers “top-up” funding to Indigenous graduate students who have been awarded scholarships. There are 10 doctoral and 20 master’s scholarships annually, each valued at $10,000, with the doctoral scholarship offering $10,000 per year for up to four years. Departments nominate students upon their admission to a graduate program. Only Indigenous students from Indigenous communities and nations from Canada and the U.S. are eligible. Students may not apply directly.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Concordia University Scholarships for International Students, you must meet the following criteria.
You must be an international student or a Canadian national student. Applicants must be enrolled full-time in a study program during their studies at the Université de Montréal.
English Language Requirement: Concordia University canceled the IELTS / TOEFL language tests due to CVID-19. They are accepting the Duolingo English test.
