Copenhagen Business School invites applicants for a PhD position on Gender and Diversity in Accounting and Finance to investigate how and why there is a shortage of female talents pursuing careers in accounting and finance positions and whether this shortage is related to gender, personality traits or other individual characteristics. We especially invite PhD proposals that compare causes, consequences and possibilities of gender and diversity across different occupations (e.g. corporate accounting, auditing, asset management, private equity, investment banking and corporate finance).
This position is at the Department of Accounting. This project is led by Professor Thomas Riise Johansen and Associate Professor Jeppe Christoffersen and is concerned with the implications of limited gender (and other forms of) diversity in accounting and finance career tracks. It thus speaks to contemporary concerns, and it aims to contribute to public, professional and company level debates on these matters. Thus, the PhD must be energized from engaging with firms and professionals as part of the research and the research dissemination.
The PhD will work in close collaboration with the supervisors and benefit from the international research environment at the department of accounting and at CBS. This project is eligible for financial support for field work, data collection and register data. It is expected that the student will be supervised by Professor Thomas Riise Johansen ([email protected]) and also by Associate Professor Jeppe Christoffersen ([email protected]). Candidates are strongly encouraged to contact Thomas or Jeppe for informal discussions and information about the position before submitting the application.
