Boston University’s Metropolitan College (MET) is honored to present the Alexis Gavras Graduate Scholarship Fund, made possible by a generous gift from Haralambos Gavras, MD, and Irene Gavras, MD. Established in memory of their son, Alexis (CAS’93, MET’04), the Gavras Scholarship is available to eligible graduate students at Metropolitan College and BU’s School of Medicine (BUSM).
Scholarships will support up to two deserving graduate students who are enrolled in graduate degree programs in the Department of Computer Science at MET, or who are pursuing studies in biomedical research in the division of Graduate Medical Sciences at BUSM.
Boston University is a private research university in Boston, Massachusetts. The university is nonsectarian, but maintains its historical affiliation with the United Methodist Church. Founded in 1839 by Methodists, its original campus was in Newbury, Vermont before moving to Boston in 1867

Up to two Alexis Gavras Graduate Scholarships will be awarded to eligible graduate students based on the following criteria:
*Note: Applicants enrolled in a graduate program in biomedical research in the division of Graduate Medical Sciences at BUSM will also be considered.
