Applications are now open for the 2025 Defence Science and Technology Scholarship for Continuing Students at Flinders University. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to students in the second and subsequent years of the Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Systems and Security) or a Bachelor of Engineering degree with a Systems and Security major.
Flinders University is a public university in Adelaide, South Australia. Founded in 1966, it was named in honour of navigator Matthew Flinders, who explored and surveyed the South Australian coastline in the early 19th century. Flinders is a verdant university[citation needed] and a member of the Innovative Research Universities (IRU) Group and ranks in the 10-16 bracket in Australia and 36th in the world of those established less than 50 years. Each scholarship is valued at $10,000 per annum for up to three years. The scholarship will be paid in instalments of $5,000 each semester, subject to the recipient maintaining eligibility. Up to 20 scholarships will be available per year whilst funding permits.

Applications will be accepted from part-time students who have extenuating circumstances that prevent them from studying full-time (e.g. disabilities, carer responsibilities). Part-time recipients will be paid pro-rata.
Selection Criteria
The scholarship will be awarded based on academic merit.
Scholarship selection will be made in accordance with procedures approved by the Director, Student Administration Services.
